The quest to be considered normal is something humans strive for. Society equates being normal with acceptance, and acceptance with contentment and happiness. However; what is considered normal, and more importantly, who defines normal.
People who are not considered normal are often rejected, thus increasing their social isolation. This creates a cycle that is damaging to the soul. Rejecting people in such a cavalier fashion is a rejection of the diversity that humanity has to offer.
Oddly enough, weirdness can create strong bonds. There is an underlying theme of unity because normal is a relative term. Normal has never been clearly defined, similar to an ever moving goal post.
Wheather on considers themselves weird or normal is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. If the individual is comfortable with themselves that is all that matters. Worrying too much if you are weird can lead to insanity.
