Love and Lust

Of all the irrational things people do when in love neglecting responsibilities normally carried out is too among them.  Ignoring friendships that have withstood major disasters is anothe casualty.  Living in a state of euphoria where all sense of logic left the brain.

For some reason it seems, age does not necessarily teach people lessons they should have learned long ago.  Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time; The pop culture definition of insanity.  Never realizing that a change in method, not personal, is in order.

The difference between love and lust can be blurry at times.  One entails a rational commitment to another human being and the other is a surrender to the basest of human instincts.  Both definitions can fit either term at some point: one is associated with caring and the other selfishness.

Lust and love are ultimately transitory.  Both have a tendency to change over time and to varying degrees.  It is said that love is the greatest expression of human happiness and contentment.  On the other hand it can be a source of great misery, a risk human nature forces us to take, wheather we want to or not.
